Urban Spree Galerie is proud to announce the exhibition “Urban Investigations” by Berlin based contemporary artist Hendrik Czakainski.
Launched during the Berlin Art Week 2015, the exhibition will present large-scale installations as well as several artworks from the artist’s new series “Urban Investigations”.
Hendrik Czakainski has developed over the years a singular reflexion over cities and our modern environment.
Built out of of wood, carton, concrete, each installation is a representation of a city or a fraction of a city, ranging from pure white industrial estates à la Lewis Baltz to post-apocalyptic environments, where human presence has been almost eradicated, where fractures, walls, conflicts and divides abound.
Uncharted territories coalesce with metaphors of of own ecosystem, visions of hostile urban environments and prescience about looming chaos.

After a formal training in screen print and carpentry, he became assistant to the artists Markus Draper for 2 years and then Wolfgang Flad for 3 years before establishing himself as an artist.
