From 01.09 to 04.09.2016, Urban Spree is invited by La Vallée in Brussels to celebrate their first anniversary over 4 days with a group show curated by Urban Spree, workshops by our Urban Spree resident artists, a neon installation and a mini book- and print- shop.
La Vallée is a cultural center located in Brussels-Molenbeek with 6000 sqm, exhibition rooms and 70 artist residencies.
For the Group Show, we have selected 18 artists, including 3 Urban Spree resident artists (Andrea Wan, Johannes Mundinger, Rylsee). Most artists are Berlin-based artists, and artists whom we feel really close and have worked together on several projects. If the show has obvious street & graffiti roots, most artists have evolved into more abstract & contemporary territories.
Artist Line-up: Andrea Wan, Charlie Anderson, Hendrik Czakainski, Jan Kaláb, Jim Avignon, Johannes Mundinger, Kid Cash, Klone, Low Bros, Mafia Tabak, Michal Škapa, Norman Behrendt, Onio, Rylsee, Mik Shida, Sosek, Twoone, Various & Gould.
Norman Behrendt will exhibit in the mezzanine space of La Vallée as a solo show his photographic series « Burning Down the House » while Rylsee, Kid Cash & Various and Gould will travel to Brussels to prepare site-specific installations & wall paintings. Last but not the least, Jim Avignon will play for the opening night with his one-man band & visual show Neo-Angin. Expect some workshops with our artists on Saturday 03.09.
With the Urban Spree BXL pop up shop, we will also bring a selection of our Berlin shop, books, t-shirts and screen prints, a special street corner by Sneeer (Rylsee’s new clothing line) for the belgian public to discover.
