***IF IT STARTS TO RAIN WE MOVE THE SCREENING INSIDE***

Iconic punk singer and feminist Kathleen Hanna is one of the most outspoken and famous feminist of the 90s. As the lead singer of the band Bikini Kill and Le Tigre and founder of the riot grrrl movement she certainly earned her reputation. In 2005, to her fans’ disappointment, Kathleen Hanna took a break from music and activism but has now returned with The Julie Ruin. To pay tribute to Kathleen Hanna as well as her new band The Julie Ruin and their German tour, we are screening the documentary “The Punk Singer”.

“Through 20 years of archival footage* and intimate interviews with Hanna, THE PUNK SINGER takes viewers on a fascinating tour of contemporary music and offers a never-before-seen view into the life of this fearless leader.”
