In the exhibition entitled “Intra Muros/Extra Muros”, Frank Dyballa shows two series in different styles, depicting rooms and landscapes, that developed simultaneously as a sort of a response to each other. His figurative and abstract paintings trace images of home, shelter, adventure and explore its ambiguities. His work is not so much about categorizing in either abstraction or figuration, but more what mood sceneries trigger within a visual language. There is something odd about these sceneries: deserted interiors and remote Caribbean resorts fluctuate between search of traces and decampment.
Frank Dyballa is a visual artist living and working in Berlin.
The exhibition is curated by Urban Spree resident artist Andrea Wan.
