Victor Ash: Full Moon Print Release

Mother Drucker and Victor Ash just released a new limited edition screen print based on a mural created by the French artist at Urban Spree this summer: “Full Moon” can be considered as the follow-up story of the iconic Berlin Kreuzberg “Astronaut”.

20160928_124631

9 years after Victor Ash painted the “Astronaut” mural (22m x 14m) in Berlin Kreuzberg as part of the 3rd editon of the Backjumps Festival in 2007, the artist came back to Berlin in the summer of 2016 to paste the full moon motive on the Urban Spree Artist Wall.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

As much as the “Astronaut” refers to David Bowie’s song “Space Oddity” (the astronaut is a direct reference to Major Tom), “Full Moon” is a tribute to the sequel song “Ashes to Ashes”.

Separated in time (9 years), and distance (3,5km), the mural and the print offers a reverie about the fate of Major Tom and the essence of street art: did Major Tom find the moon Victor Ash placed for him, and will he ever?

1288

We have only a couple of prints available of this already sold out edition.

• Föllakzoid (Live — Bym Records / Sacred Bones Records — CL)

• Peine Perdue (Live — Medical Records LLC — FR/DE)

“Hot wired dance smash”.

• Chris Imler (Live — Staatsakt — DE)

• December (Dj — Blackest Ever Black / Jealous God / In Paradisum / Mannequin / Where To Now ?
— FR)

• Dj Scotch Egg (Live — Load Records — JP)
Il a collaboré notamment avec Hrvatski (Keith Fullerton Whitman), Mike Paradinas (Planet MU), The Pipettes ou The Go! Team.

• Rancune (Live — Juvenile Delinquent Rec — FR/DE)
fb = fb.com/dierancune
url = rancune.eu

• Infecticide (Live — Da! Heard it Records — FR)
Bagarre générale. Violence gratuite. Musique bien troussée entre punk et proto-techno. Synthés punitifs et sens de l’arrogance. Tout ça d’un coup.
fb = fb.com/infecticide
url = daheardit-records.net/fr/discography/dhr-24#release

• Debmaster (Live — Egotwister / Cock Rock Disco — FR/DE)

“Toys” by Canemorto and Marco Proserpio

After the success of Amo-Te Lisboa, which premiered in Berlin at Urban Spree in November 2015, Canemorto is releasing a short sequel movie together with director Marco Proserpio.

Whereas Amo-Te Lisboa was sending out the boys back to the street to paint, Toys ironically signs the triumph of the contemporary art world, a universe where easy money and robbing wall paintings becomes a routine. The film focuses on the recent debate about the controversial exhibition Street Art: Banksy & Co: L’Arte allo Stato Urbano and the stealing of Blu’s wall-paintings in Bologna.

Toys contains indeed a unique exclusive interview with Camillo Tarozzi, the Italian restorer who made the discussed removals of Blu’s works, filmed by Marco Proserpio in January 2016.

LIVE
● Spur
● Lola’s Bad
● Martin Steer aka Midimúm
● ABIGAIL

DJ:
● konkrit

It’s time to let that raging cat out of its back and sink its paws in your faces:ANTIME is proud to announce the release of Spur’s debut album »Nowhereland«, set for a physical and digital release in February. Spur himself will stir up an ecstatic »dance of cultures« on Urban Spree’s floor to celebrate the occasion.

Spur will be joined by our favourite rioting grrrrl Lola’s Bad how comes all the way from Greece for one of her much talked about live shows. Or from L.A. Or London. Or from around the corner. We have no clue, really.

ANTIME’s own Martin Steer (aka Midimúm) and label affiliate weirdo ABIGAIL will round off the evening with their highly energetic live performances which takes cues from droning, polyrhythmic Techno (Steer) and jacking Acid sounds (ABIGAIL). Before, inbetween and after sets ANTIME’s communications officer konkrit will alternate between 35 and 45rpm, 70 and 14 bpm and last but not least -8 to +8%.

● Spur LIVE
When young Spur first opened his mouth to emit something that would finally make sense to the world, it wasn’t a single word but a whole sentence. However, some twenty-something years later he prefers expressing himself through music. »Sometimes I really hate myself when I am talking – I’d rather say it with a chord or a progression of notes”, he says. Does he consider music to be an ersatz or maybe even a universal language? Not quite. »I see it as an extension of language.«

● Lola’s Bad LIVE
Lola’s Bad is a Greek-born producer, songwriter, director, actress, filmmaker and former dancer/choreographer; a modern day auteur now based in L.A. via London. Her sound is a complex amalgam of Electro-Pop, R&B and Bass music, sometimes introvert and sometimes built for the dancefloor.

● Martin Steer (aka Midimúm) LIVE
Martin Steer is the founder of the Berlin-based Electronica label ANTIME, guitarist in Frittenbude and sings in pandoras.box. His solo project (formerly called Midimúm) blends abstract, droning Techno with experimental guitar sounds in order to explore new utopias at the interface of analogue and digital means of production. Steer’s music is an ever evolving meeting place of futuristic sounds, dronescapes and sampled bits from the depths of the dark web surfing on noisy beats which occasionally give way to disembodied voices.

● ABIGAIL LIVE
It’s time to finally fuck up the obsolete balls out discourse that’s been ruling the dancefloors once and for all, create an environment engendering horizontal and vertical individual experiences. ABIGAIL’s game for this kind of game as it’s ABIGAIL’s game. Sample aesthetics meet Acidic Techno. Come prepared.

● On Spur’s »Nowhereland«:
André Wittmann’s debut album under the moniker Spur was made with both the body and the mind in order to indulge in an odd but somehow familiar »dance of cultures« as the young Lübeck-based Bavarian calls it himself. »I find it disturbing to see how all those fields of music are still strictly separated until this day. I’d rather see them all combined«, he explains the idea behind »Nowhereland« which compiles a selection of the best cuts out of 20 to 30 compositions Spur perfected them during a month-long stay in Ghent in early 2014. On »Nowhereland«, semingly odd time signatures form the backbone of what are essentially club-orientated tracks. Spur, who started playing drums as child, took to other instruments like guitar, marimba, violin and piano and whose influences range from Hip Hop to Stravinsky and Flamenco or Gamelan, approaches songwriting both theoretically and intuitively. »I aim at putting the mind and the body in motion«, he sums up the idea behind the uniquely odd but somehow familiar »Nowhereland«.

»Nowhereland« is set for a physical and digital release in February via ANTIME.

C T M # Senyawa / Grün / Bill Kouligas / Rabhi Beaini / Shakleton

Morphine and CTM are extremely pleased to announce an impromptu gathering with Senyawa, an Indonesian duo. They will be supported by live apperances from Morphine’s Rabih Beaini (aka Morphosis) and Grün, and DJ sets from PAN’s Bill Kouligas, and Shackleton – all friends or fans of the duo’s work.

Senyawa

CALLING THE NEW GODS • SENYAWA live in Java from Vincent Moon / Petites Planètes on Vimeo.

Senyawa uniquely manage to embody the aural flavours of Javanese music while exploring the framework of experimental music practice, pushing the boundaries of both traditions. In doing so their music strikes a perfect balance between their avant-garde influences and cultural heritage to create truly contemporary Indonesian music.
Following several Indonesian tours, Senyawa’s mesmerizing live show quickly attracted considerable attention, and was followed by numerous invitations to perform at festivals in Australia and Europe.

 Grün

Berlin-based percussionist and electronic music producer Daniele de Santis appears with a supporting analogue set as Grün – a project dedicated to exploring the colour Green as a portion of the light spectrum as well as archetypal symbol of what is commonly referred to as “nature”. An organic sonic creature that takes shape by controlled interactions between custom-made analogue sythesis modules, field recordings, and acoustic piano parts, Grün’s live improvisation gives life to a deep-bass sonic form resembling over-amplified microbiological worlds.

 Bill Kouligas

billkouligas280114-660x365DJ and producer Bill Kouligas stands behind the landmark electronic and experimental music imprint PAN, which he founded in 2008. A label that quickly garnered praise internationally, PAN does not subscribe to a singular style; rather, it identifies unorthodox expressive voices from different generations and scenes, bringing them into dialogue and exploring their intersections and the ways they reference one another.

 Rabih Beaini

29_rabih_beaini_culturebox_rbma_lassek_8Lebanese-born producer Rabih Beani is known for his grainy, imaginative analog techno and sonic explorations under his own name as well as his Morphosis moniker. While his productions join the dots between dancefloor, raw, elementary electronica, improv and jazz, his Morphine Records label has put forward an equally avant-garde selection of techno from the likes of Madteo, Hieroglyphic Being, and Anthony “Shake” Shakir.

 Shakleton

Shackleton-Sparse-c-Vincent-ArbeletLancashire-born producer Sam Shackleton, now resident in Berlin, emerged in the mid 00s just as dubstep began its international spread. He operated the influential label Skull Disco with Appleblim from 2005-08 and launched another imprint, Woe To The Septic Heart!, in 2010.

Shackleton played in punk bands when growing up and brings the DIY, no-holds-barred ethos to his solo work while embracing an idiosyncratic darkness and fragility. Since his earliest record – Stalker, released as a single sided 7” on the Mordant Music label in 2004 – Shackleton has been an outlier. His singular approach to music making sets his productions apart from dubstep and other genres; he crafts an identifiable aesthetic without shuttering his sound into a particular style. One of the most successful “crossover” stories of dubstep, Shackleton has collaborated with Ricardo Villalobos, T++, and others far removed from South London’s bass scene.
