Urban Spree Prints and Stohead release this Friday « Brewing Out« , a 9-colour hand-pulled screen print based on a mural painted in 2014 by the Berlin-based artist in Linz, Austria. The mural is documented in the book « The Art of Writing Your Name« .
The print is a subtle rendition of a classic Stohead handstyle, morphing into a distillation/dissolution on the bottom of the print, announcing Stohead’s current artistic direction (liquid fumes).
The 60 x 60 cm print comes in a limited Regular Edition of 50 prints, signed and numbered by the artist. In addition, Stohead will produce a Special hand-sprayed Edition, in a limited run of 10 prints.
The prints will be available this coming Friday, May 3rd, 2019, at 17:00 on the Urban Spree website and in our Berlin Shop at the same time.
The print is based on a subsequent canvas painted by the artist after he completed the wall. Mother Drucker’s master printer, Dolly Demoratti, has chosen a complex, 9-colour version, to recreate the subtleness of the motive.

On the occasion of the VAO Collective Art Residency and Exhibition at Urban Spree Galerie in Berlin (22.11.2016 – 02-12.2016), Urban Spree and L’Atlas release an exclusive series of screen prints.
Red Seal (Master Edition) is a 2-colour large format print (90 x 130 cm) edited in a limited run of 8 prints only. The motive stems from an iconic arabic calligraphic style used by L’Atlas alongside his other geometric and labyrinth patterns.
In addition to the Master Edition, Urban Spree releases 3 prints variations in a 60 x 80 cm format, in WHITE, BLACK, and SILVER.
The variant screen prints, hand-pulled at Urban Spree, are produced in a limited run of 30 prints, signed and numbered and 8 only for the silver edition.
About the artist:
Jules Dedet Granel, aka L’Atlas, is a French artist born in 1978. He began doing graffiti in the early 1990s before co-founding the VAO Collective (“Vandales à l’Origine”) in 1996.
Fascinated by the history of handwriting, he has studied calligraphy in several countries, including in the Middle East, and designed his own typography. He frequently works in public spaces and has become a major figure of the Street Art movement and calligraphic abstraction. He lives and works in Paris.
Mother Drucker and Victor Ash just released a new limited edition screen print based on a mural created by the French artist at Urban Spree this summer: « Full Moon » can be considered as the follow-up story of the iconic Berlin Kreuzberg « Astronaut ».
9 years after Victor Ash painted the « Astronaut » mural (22m x 14m) in Berlin Kreuzberg as part of the 3rd editon of the Backjumps Festival in 2007, the artist came back to Berlin in the summer of 2016 to paste the full moon motive on the Urban Spree Artist Wall.
As much as the « Astronaut » refers to David Bowie’s song « Space Oddity » (the astronaut is a direct reference to Major Tom), « Full Moon » is a tribute to the sequel song « Ashes to Ashes ».
Separated in time (9 years), and distance (3,5km), the mural and the print offers a reverie about the fate of Major Tom and the essence of street art: did Major Tom find the moon Victor Ash placed for him, and will he ever?
We have only a couple of prints available of this already sold out edition.
Urban Spree is proud to announce the upcoming release of a large format screen print by Twoone in a limited edition run of only 25 copies.
The screen print will be officially released on Tuesday, March 15th, 2016 at 10:00 CET in Berlin, available online on the Urban Spree webstore.
The Berlin based Japanese-Australian street artist teamed up with Urban Spree and Mother Drucker to produce this art edition print, using only traditional techniques.
Each print is a hand-painted multiple.
Curated by Dscreet, the DUBL TRUBL exhibition at Urban Spree gathered 90 street and graffiti artists predominantly from the London scene to work in duos and display artworks made on a collaboration basis.
The outcome is a vivid, free-spirited, and grassroots street art show where most artists have displayed a more graffiti-oriented vision, both on the walls painted outside or in the works shown in the gallery. “Back to the roots of street art” in a way, this spirit being also embodied in the DUBL TRUBL dark humored series of videos.
For the closing evening & party on October 30th, a special DUBL TRUBL zine and a series of fresh videos are currently in the making to document the adventure and spirit of the show. Both will be released during the party.
We will also celebrate the launch of Chrisse Kunst’s Print collaboration with Dave The Chimp, Billy & Alex, Reka, Thierry Noir, Aeon, Christiaan Nagel, Pure Evil, EBOT, 44flavours, Base23 and more. ..
