Christian Durieux: Un Enchantement
Exceptionally closed to the public that evening, the Louvre hosted a social reception in honor of a politician who was leaving office. Feeling like a funeral, he discreetly leaves the evening, and walks away, a bottle in each hand, into the neighbouring rooms. In the Sully Wing, in the Salon Carré, he finds a young woman sitting on a bench, facing Duccio's The Virgin in Majesty, with her hands in front of her eyes... What is she doing there? Why is she hiding her face?
A whimsical night ensues, between seduction and erudition, humour and emotion, political reflections and poetry. Charmed as much as charming, the old man tries to seduce this lively, facetious, soothing and evanescent muse who accompanies him on his last night.
