The Restricted Areas project is about the human urge for utopia, our quest for perfection through technological progress. "For this project I travelled a lot in search of places that were particularly important for the concept of technological progress. These places are now deserted. They have lost their meaning, as well as their utopian ideology, which is obsolete today. Many of these places used to be secret cities that were not recorded on maps or in public archives. All progress comes to a standstill sooner or later. I am interested in documenting what is left of it". (Danila Tkachenko)
The restricted Areas Project won the 2015 European Publishers Award For Photography.
