"Le MUR" is an exhibition catalogue celebrating three years of collage of original and ephemeral works of art on Le MUR in Paris: 77 artists; 144 colour pages. »
At the beginning of May 2000, the artist Thom Thom, alias Thomas Schmitt, began cutting out the advertising posters at the intersection of Oberkampf and Saint Maur streets. He hijacked the billboards of this "Place sans nom", systematically, practically every day. In early spring 2001, Jean Faucheur and Thom Thom meet. In March 2001, Thom Thom invites Jean Faucheur to come and paste Gran' Popa Scalp, a painting on paper dating from 1986, which he hadn't pasted at the time he was displaying his works on Parisian billboards. This kind of interaction is becoming widespread with people like L'Atlas, Vast, Hélène "Surfil" Laxenaire... A small community of situationists is forming, mainly graffiti artists, but also, already, a few photographers.
75 performances from 2007 to 2010
