Per Hechtsprung kopfüber in die Menge – DOPE BODY liefern die musikalische Anleitung dazu. Schon seit ihrem 2012er Studioalbum Natural History, spätestens aber mit dem im Oktober letzten Jahres erschienenen, dritten Langspieler Lifer präsentiert der US-Vierer die mehr als solide Fortsetzung der 90er-Alt-Rock-Dekade von Drive Like Jehu bis Chavez. Dicke Namen, dicke Eier? Dope Body sind mehr als eine Blindkopie schon tausendfach in Form gesägter Gitarrenbretter. Jazz, New Wave, Math Rock – das Quartett entwirft keine Musik nach Maß. Was Zachary Utz, Andrew Laumann, David Jacober und John Jones spinnenfingrig skizzieren, endet vielmehr im Chaos mit System. Und gepaart mit der Erfahrung der vier Tour-Marathoni klingt das live verdammt fabelhaft.

After releasing Come To Life last winter, he spent the rest of the year touring with Weekend and contributing to Mykki Blanco's Gay Dog Food. Now, he's back to work on his own material and will be over Europe in October 2015. He supported Yung Lean in the US aswell.
