About the Event
On the evening of 30 April 2026, starting at 18:00, Urban Spree invites you to an ambitious multi-dimensional event, from the lost-in-time era of the West-Berlin of the late 70s to the avant-garde of digital creation and electronic music, a full-on approach mixing the Galerie, the Concert Room, the Dome & the Biergarten at the same time, blending genres and generations, creating a thread of the city over 5 decades. The Berlin of yesteryear, the Berlin of today, the Berlin of tomorrow. Under one roof, across 4 floors, united.
PROGRAM
GALLERY: 18:00-22:00
Opening of Miron Zownir’s retrospective exhibition about Berlin. His photographic oeuvre is a relentless exploration of life at the margins of urban society. For nearly five decades, the German-Ukrainian photographer has documented the energy of cities and their subcultures, capturing moments of intensity, resistance, and transformation. This exhibition presents a comprehensive collection of his exceptional black-and-white photographic work in Berlin from the late 1970s to 2025 presented together with Galerie Bene Taschen from Cologne.
CONCERT ROOM: 19:30- 20:30
In connexion with the exhibition, the legendary artist Mona Mur and drummer Christian St-Claire will perform songs from Mona's latest album "Don't Turn on the News", to be released that very night, and whose lyrics were written by Miron Zownir, resulting in a collection of 9 urban electronic poetry songs, raw and bloody, in signature electronics and guitars, mercilessly forged together by Mur’s unmistakable voice. Mona Mur started her career in 1982 in the German punk scene as leader of Mona Mur & Die Mieter with Gode B, and Einstürzenden Neubauten's Mark Chung, FM Einheit & Alexander Hacke and developed a solo career afterwards.
B-DOME: 21:00 - 23:00
As the night unforlds, the Urban Spree Dome will witness the marriage between live music and 360° audio-visuals, a fully immersive live and audio creation performance featuring 2 Berlin-based cutting-edge bands, exploring between funk and electro:
bambamsboogie
Dark soul meets raw funk meets dancefloor ritual. Live bass, break-driven grooves, afro-inspired rhythms and soulful vocals all wrapped in deep electronic textures. The Berlin-based band builds grooves that evolve in real time: hypnotic, visceral, and impossible to stand still to.
2001 space Odyssey
A contemporary club trio experimenting live with hardware synths, trumpet, guitar, and voice, moving between deep listening and full body movement. Alberto Lopez Talaya, Nikita Trofimov and Salvador Perea (of Técnica label) create something that defies easy genre: cinematic, physical, alive.
BIERGARTEN
Elvin b2b Endrew all night, bringing house, funk, dub and beyond to the Garden.
