Jim Avignon (*1968) is a German, Berlin-based painter, muralist, and musician.

According to the legend, the artist became stranded in the Provence city of Avignon at some point in the ’80s when his car unexpectedly broke down. He resorted to painting Dali images onto pavements, gradually raising money to repair his car. The name stayed.

In the early 90s, he became a ubiquitous painter of the techno movement in Berlin, designing makeshift clubs and Love Parade trucks in parallel to a successful artistic career. His work is emblematic of the Berlin scene, and he is an iconic figure of the city since more than 30 years. His mural work is also part of the East Side Gallery since the 1990s.
