Legendary post-punk group The Cassandra Complex will celebrate their 40 year anniversary with an extensive world tour spanning Europe and the Americas.
Originating in the mid-eighties, The Cassandra Complex swiftly garnered attention for their distinct fusion of electronics, post-punk aesthetics, guitar-driven soundscapes, and the commanding vocals of Rodney Orpheus. Tracks such as "Moscow Idaho," "One Millionth Happy Customer," and "The War Against Sleep" catapulted them to fame across Europe. Extensive tours solidified their position as one of the foremost post-punk bands of their time.
Rodney Orpheus has also worked in the field of music technology helping to create and promote much of the tech that musicians around the world use today, particularly VST (Virtual Studio Technology) which revolutionized the music industry. He has worked with artists as diverse as Kevin Godley (10cc, Godley & Creme), Sinead O’Connor, The Sisters of Mercy, Die Krupps, and Future Sound of London.
SJÖBLOM is the brainchild of the multi-talented Johan Sjöblom Eliot, known for his exceptional work with Sweden's iconic post-punk/dark indie sensation, The Exploding Boy (Official), and Robert Eklind (previously in the goth rock band Malaise)
In 2016, after a decade of dedicated contributions to The Exploding Boy, Johan embarked on a journey to share the songs he had nurtured over the years—ones that truly capture his essence without any compromise. While his music retains its core darkness, his melodic compositions have grown even more potent, occasionally taking a more deliberate pace. Hints of pop and indie influences now weave through his sonic tapestry, though the unmistakable pulse of his gothic heart remains ever-present. For those who appreciate exceptional indie and dark pop music, SJÖBLOM is a hidden gem worth discovering. The new album -DEAD OF NIGHT- is released the 1 of November, so don’t miss this next Swedish pop/post-punk invasion!
