Anders Reventlov works with the idea of writing as drawing. He works specifically in black and white as a reference to writing and signature. In a digitalized world, where the individual action is reduced to a swipe or a algorithm, Anders is advocating for all of us to take our name and our own handwritten signature back and use it as a tool of personal resistance.

All shapes are based on the characters in the word AGORA. Agora means now in portuguese, a language that Anders Reventlov picked up when he painted in the streets of Rio over a period of 2 years. The meaning of the word translates perfectly to his method, applying black ink directly on the blank surface fast and like making a name signature! No time for corrections right here and now.Agora is also the word for the open free public space where democracy was born. Anders received in 2025 the prestigious stipendium from the Danish Art Foundation.
