About the Concert
Some may know Felines in their previous incarnation as an all-girl trio - Ditte Melgaard on guitar, Mei-Long Bao on drums and Asta Louisa Bjerre on bass - playing fun-seeking garage rock with a retro twist. The group cut their teeth in the Copenhagen underground and released a few singles and their debut album on cool international labels such as the German Soundflat Records and Burger Records in the US. Since then the band spent time in Paris re-working some of their music for a Saint Laurent fashion show and did a sound track for the Danish youth movie “Threesome”. Since then... silence.
But no more. Felines are now a quartet having added Kristian Bønløkke on synth. Even though their garage roots are still noticeable in the edgy guitar sound, Felines have evolved into a lo-fi, hi-hopes combo playing pop songs with a laid-back charm and seemingly effortless ease. Their sweet-talking, experimental-emotional CPH blues has a sound that lands somewhere between ESG, The Breeders and Delta 5. They bring a sense of flow and fun, which gives them a sound of their own.
They recently released their new EP Saying It Twice Makes It Real on vinyl and digital release on the Danish label Crunchy Frog and on cassette tape on the legendary US label Burger Records.
