On her third album, U kin B the Sun, you experience a world of shifting rhythm with Vancouver singer-songwriter FRAZEY FORD, enhancing every beat and groove with the subtle magnetism of her hypnotic voice. With her graceful collision of soul and psychedelics and 70s funk, it's a work that invites both self-reflection and wild, joyful movement, ultimately evoking a quiet transcendence.
By turns ecstatic and melancholic, gloriously chaotic, "U kin B the Sun" is the result of a certain personal transformation Ford has undergone in recent years. "I used to speak more in metaphors, but this album has turned out much more raw and direct," she says. "I would say it's a result of being more in my body and more in touch with my emotions. On this record I broke away from folk and wandered down exciting, musical new paths ."
