With their debut album in 2014, Jeans for Jesus became critics' favourites in the Swiss press, which quickly dubbed them the undisputed pop avant-garde, the reinvention of Swiss pop and the salvation of the so-called dialect (music in dialect). Despite their internationally oriented production - compared to Frank Ocean, Kraftwerk, Daft Punk, Phoenix or Kanye West, among others - the Bernese sang in Swiss German as a matter of course. A dialect that only about 4 million people worldwide understand. Regardless of the immense range of music with Swiss German lyrics, 'dialect' is a genre of its own on Spotify.
With "in deinem Garten" and "2000 etc. feat. Steiner & Madlaina", Jeans for Jesus have released their first songs in High German and at the same time announced the album "Germany's Next Jeans for Jesus", which is due to be released in spring 2022.
