Und wir erinnern uns: in der Peripherie Washington, DC’s wurde nicht nur Hardcore erfunden, nein, er wurde dort auch stets erweitert. Angefangen mit den Bad Brains, über Fugazi und deren Dischord Imprint, Ian Svenonius’ The Nation of Ulysses, später Q and not U und den fantastischen Black Eyes, bis eventuell sogar hin zu Chain and the Gang. Allesamt Bands, deren politische Grundhaltung sich durch eine gewisse musik-ästhetische Sperrigkeit fortformulierte – zwar nicht unbedingt in Form eines einheitlichen Sounds – jedoch unisono und unmißverständlich als klares Statement gegen eine white-male-dominated Rock’n’Roll-KonditionierunUpcoming concert
