About the Concert
Mit dem Release von „Ganglion Reef, Drag City imprint GOD?” wirft Wand den Blick auf den expansiven Sound der neuen Musik von sich verändernden Zeitgenossen von Ost bis West. Die flüchtige Schwerkraft des Wand-Sounds zeigt sich in flirrenden Bässen, Stakkato-Keys und träumerischem Gesang mit Haken und Ösen. An den Bruchstellen ihrer Songs lassen Wand jede Menge Platz für improvisiert klingende Passagen, die aber immer wieder in der Kompaktheit der Produktion aufgeht. Das Laut- und Leise-Spiel beherrschen Wand sowieso perfekt. In seiner Verschrobenheit erinnert das Ganze an frühe Pavement-Werke und spätestens, wenn im Video zu „Plum” Wackeldackel, Liveaufnahmen und der letzte Wald-Ausflug der Band hinter einer blauen Wolke zusammengeschnitten werden, weiß man, dass Wand sich selbst nicht allzu ernst nehmen, dafür aber ihren künstlerischen Auftrag.
