About the Exhibition
Uban Spree Galerie, in collaboration with Cologne-based Galerie Bene Taschen, presents a retrospective of iconic photographs by the German-Ukrainian photogrpaher Miron Zownir, spanning nearly five decades of an intense visual journey, from the divided city to the reunified metropolis.
Like no other photographers of his generation, Miron Zownir captured both the rebellious and melancholic spirit of West Berlin of the 1980s, as well as the architectural transformations, hedonistic energy, and protest movements following the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Accompanying the exhibition, Urban Spree Books will be publishing the photobook "MIRON ZOWNIR BERLIN 1977–2025", featuring a carefully curated selection of his Berlin photographic works.

Eine visuelle Zeitreise durch das Berliner Werk des Fotografen Miron Zownir – von der geteilten Stadt bis zur wiedervereinigten Metropole.
Die URBAN SPREE GALERIE präsentiert in Zusammenarbeit mit der GALERIE BENE TASCHEN eine Retrospektive ikonischer Fotografien aus fast fünf Jahrzehnten. Zownirs Arbeiten fangen sowohl den rebellischen und melancholischen Geist West-Berlins bis 1980 ein als auch die architektonischen Umbrüche, die hedonistische Energie und die Protestbewegungen nach dem Fall der Berliner Mauer.
Begleitend zur Ausstellung erscheint bei URBAN SPREE BOOKS das Fotobuch MIRON ZOWNIR BERLIN 1977–2025 mit einer sorgfältig kuratierten Auswahl seiner Berliner Arbeiten.
