About
"Wish You Were Here" is now being released by Urban Spree Editions in a run of 67 prints to commemorate the mural painted by Mode 2 for the flagship exhibition "Art in the Streets" at the MOCA - Museum of Contemporary Art - in Los Angeles in 2011.
Art in the Streets was one of the first major U.S. museum shows of graffiti and street art. Curated by MoCA Director Jeffrey Deitch and Associate curators Aaron Rose and Roger Gastman, the exhibition traced the development of graffiti and street art from the 1970s to the global movement it has become today, concentrating on key cities such as New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, and Sao Paulo.
This large indoor pastel and acrylic mural produced by Mode 2, spanning two sections of the space, between British artists Jamie Reid and Banksy at one end, and Spike Jonze at the other, has been recomposed by the artist for this print edition.
Each print is customised by the artist with 4 different colours of spray paint.
