About the artist
Invader is a French artist (b. 1969 in Paris). He is known for his mosaiques, pasted on the walls of big cities all around the world. He started his art installations in Paris in 1996.
Driven by a passion for digital innovation and inspired by video games, traditional Roman mosaics and pop culture, Invader has made his mark on the art world. From the mid-1990s onwards, he began placing mosaics depicting extraterrestrial creations on the walls of Paris. This was his first ‘invasion’, which he would replicate in several cities, transforming the world into a giant video game map.
By inviting the public to seek out and identify his works around the world, using the famous Flashinvaders app, his installations become collaborative and lend a unique dimension to the relationship between the anonymous artist and his followers.
