About
In 2013, the SNCF's grey Z 6100 trains, also known as rame inox, p'tits gris, boîte de conserve (tin can) for their shape and colour, were taken out of service in France. This was the starting point for a new project for graffiti artist Opak, who decided to paint these legendary trains one last time.
In the form of a logbook, the first volume of Painted Graves reveals the details of this adventure, and its genesis in the 90s.
The second opus, available here, pays tribute to friends who left too soon: Risk (Finland), Stone (France), Remo (Switzerland), Math (Holland), Nesh (Austria), Choc (Belgium), Ruzd (Germany) and Aone (USA). Journeys, flashbacks and the quest that comes to an end. Most of these trains, painted or not, have now also disappeared.
