In this new book, photographer Emmett Edelstein presents pictures of S-Bahn and trains running in Berlin with graffiti artists' paintings on their carriages.
Published at the same time as the reissue of his famous ‘Farbzüge’, this book shows new material collected over the last 10 years and forms a new work, while following the same presentation process. The photographs are organised according to the time of the day they were taken. The light gradually changing from early morning to night gives a sense of travel, bringing together several years of photography into a single day.
In this book, the photographer shares his pictures of trains painted by artists he has followed and admired for many years.
The outcome is a 228 pages photobook, with a yellow sticker placed on its cover, the very same one the train drivers affix to the wagons in order to signal that a wagon needs to be cleaned after some graffiti action as well as to prevent graffiti writers to take clean photo shoots of their works.
