Full video of the 3rd Berlin Seafood Festival at Urban Spree! Thanks a lot to our lovely guests, passionate vendors, and to Gabriel at Devir Produções who filmed and edited the video.

From West African spicy grilled fish from DeDeeDe (our permanent food vendor for the 2017 season you can find everyday in our Biergarten), to the mediterranean shores with Pic Nic 34‘s octopus sandwich, Pontecarlo‘s pasta ai frutti fi mare and risotti, without forgetting Valencia’ La Cuina and their delicious Fideua, the festival ventured this year into the Far East with the succulent Japanese okonomiyaki from Samurai Spoon and the herbal tastes of thaï green papaya salad with grilled mackerel from Khwan, Spud Bencer‘s mussels “à la marinière” were a treat as well as Nico’s Cancale Oysters, in direct provenance from Brittany which were an instant sell-out. We tried some wine-beer/seafood pairings with Maxim Bar à Vins and his hand-picked selection of nature wines. Excellent combination with seafood okonomiyaki and oysters was Brooklyn Brewery‘s “Sorachi Ace“, an unfiltered Japanese farmhouse saison that has been lost and lately revived in the state of Washington. BRLO‘s 7% German IPA was a hit with grilled shrimps owing to its slight notes of caramel.

The Berlin Seafood Festival returns to Urban Spree on May 20th and 21st, 2017 for its third edition.

Curated by Urban Spree, the Berlin Seafood Festival is a culinary meeting of raw & fresh seafood produce coupled with Berlin’s finest street seafood vendors.

Create your own plate of seafood, savor a grilled fish on demand, discover the wild oysters from the Nordsee shores, special mussels + fries in the original belgian tradition, and other natural delicacies paired with our selection of natural wines and german craft beer.

In addition to the fresh seafood market, the Berlin Seafood Festival invites a selection of top-notched Berlin street cuisine vendors who will create a culinary travel experience.

3rd Berlin Seafood Festival

The third edition of the Berlin Seafood Festival returns to Urban Spree on May 20th and 21st, 2017.

Held over 2 days and curated by Urban Spree, the Berlin Seafood Festival is a culinary meeting of raw & fresh seafood produce coupled with Berlin’s finest street seafood vendors.

Create your own plate of seafood, savor a grilled fish on demand, discover the wild oysters from the Nordsee shores, special mussels + fries in the original belgian tradition, and other natural delicacies paired with our selection of natural wines and german craft beer.

In addition to the fresh seafood market, the Berlin Seafood Festival invites a selection of top-notched Berlin street cuisine vendors who will create a culinary travel experience.

Our selection of vendors: 

DeDeeDe: DeDeeDe is the resident restaurant at Urban Spree for the 2017 season. Specialized in west african and ghanean home made and grilled cuisine, DeDeeDe will prepare a selection of grilled fish, shrimps, seafood rice balls and salad, paired with authentic spicy sauces and condiments.

PicNic 34PIC NIC 34‘s Gianni will deep fry baby squids and small fishes in a “frittura di paranza”, prepare delicious octopus sandwiches and Seeteufel mit Kartoffeln und Rosmarin mayo.

KhwanKhwan will be grilling mackerel with som tam (papaya salad) and delicious thai side dishes (nam prik).

Spud BencerSpud Bencer, the temple of French cuisine in Friedrichshain will prepare authentic moules marinières and frites coupées au couteau.

MaximMAXIM – Bar à vins is at the forefront of selection when it comes to wine and food pairing. This year Maxim will join us at the Berlin Seafood Festival with an impressive range of hand selected natural wines by the glass or by the bottle. On top of their wine selection Maxim will also be presenting our Oyster Bar!

La Cuina: La Cuina will be preparing their famous Fideuà. Fideuà is a seafood dish originally from the coast of Valencia which is similar to paella, but with noodles instead of rice. Its main ingredients are: pasta noodles (usually hollow), fish (rockfish, monkfish, cuttlefish, squid), and shellfish (squilla mantis, shrimp, crayfish).

 

Pontecarlo: Kreuzberg-based slow food institution Pontecarlo will be serving spaghetti ai frutti di mare, farfalle con piselli & calamari crostoni ai frutti di mare.

Wir freuen uns, Sie im Rahmen eines tollen Naturwein-Wochenendes mit den Messen RAW (The Artisan Wine Fair, London) und “Meet the Winzers” von Viticulture zu DAS FEST einzuladen.

Der Titel DAS FEST ist auch Programm: Hier treffen sich Winzer, Weinprofis, Weinnasen und Weinliebhaber, um bei dem einen oder anderen Glas Wein Erfahrungen auszutauschen und miteinander zu feiern.

Eine Vielzahl Berliner Naturwein-Protagonisten wird dabei eine ganz persönliche Auswahl an spannenden “vins naturels” – sowohl im Glas als auch in der Flasche – präsentieren.

Den Hunger der Gäste werden die Köche Pierre Lejeune und Mathias Gondol (“les jeunes se gondolent“) mit einfachen Speisen aus regionalen und biologischen Produkten stillen.

In the middle of a great week-end promoting natural wine in Berlin, within the RAW (Artisan Wine Fair, London) and “Meet the Winzers” at Viniculture, we are pleased to invite you to our festive event.

The idea of DAS FEST is to offer a warm meeting point for wines makers, wine professionals and wine afficionados – with great wines, food and good music.

Berlin Natural Wine protagonists will present an individual selection of natural wine that can be tasted by glass or by bottle.


For all the hungry people the chefs Mathias Gondol and Pierre Lejeune will offer a few simple dishes cooked with organic products from small regional producers.

The fanfare band Agios Lavrentios Brass Band will play live in the Galerie!
