Urban Spree Galerie is proud to invite you to the Berlin chapter of a travelling exhibition curated by the Brain Damage Gallery in Lublin, Poland.
The exhibition aims to present Urban Art from Poland in an ambitious group show featuring excellent artists such as Autone, Chazme, Czarnobyl, EloMelo, Etam Cru, Kamil Kuzko, Mat, M-City, Nawer, Pener, Proembrion, Pepe, Robert Proch, Paweł Ryżko, Sepe, Szczerbak, Uran, Zbiok, and others.
Launched in Kiev in October 2014, the exhibition travels to 7 eastern and western European cities before concluding in December in Lublin – the home base of the gallery, with a selection of artworks, murals and photographic archives.
In the recent years Polish urban art has become a rapidly growing phenomenon. Polish urban artists are now not only mentioned among the world elite, but above all, within the broad spectrum of urban art they managed to develop their own, unique, clearly recognizable style. A style, which on the one hand, corresponds to the most notable achievements of Polish contemporary art; on the other, it often emanates from the most radical form of art created on the streets – graffiti writing.
The aim of the Polish Urban Art project is to present and promote Polish urban art in Europe.
Additionally, the gallery will present photographs documenting the evolution of art on Polish streets, starting from pieces captured by Edward Hartwig in the 1950s, to recent large scale murals.
The entire presentation will be completed by a story of Polish art, aptly captured with the slogan “Graffiti Goes East”.
