No thrones. No empires. Just Dooom. Waking up two monolithic beasts in the catacombs of Urban Spree. Reaching for the dead:

There are new. And they are monster. Majestic and meditative the four heavy downtuned monolithic songs on their brand new self-titled debut LP gonna rip your beautiful mind – waking you up from mass hypnosis we call society. Or how the band says: “We adapt our minds to someone elses vision of a life, that clearly doesn’t benefit anyone but the ones on top of the pyramid. And since we’re taught that this is the only way of living, kicking downwards and licking upwards, we waste our golden years at some worthless job, to save up some worthless money and buy amplifiers so that we can express how much we fucking hate everything”. We are psyched to present their first live appearance in Germany!

Huge and evil. Having played quiet some gigs in Berlin and (i.a. with Black Pyramid, Pelican & Torche, Karma to Burn, at Swamp Fest, at several Dustown events, at Rotormania) this heavy force of four androids is pretty well-know in the local Doom (and) Metal scene.

DIONYSIAN DRONE FESTIVAL

For the first time in Berlin
A celebration of drone music and one of its ancient origins

The ecstatic and transcendental nature of drone melodies and repetitive rhythmic structures in music have always been considered a compelling means of mesmerizing and elevating the human spirit and have been present from ancient times to our days in various psychedelic and ethnic musical trends.

Tracing the origins of such traditions, the Dionysian Drone Festival offers its visitors the rare opportunity to experience music from the remote Greek islands of Crete and Karpathos, as well as music from the Black Sea. Leaving laptops and electronic instruments behind, the featured musicians will make use of the tsambouna (a kind of greek bagpipe), the lyra (a bowed three-string instrument), the laouto (a long-neck fretted instrument of the lute family) and large frame drums, to recreate this music as it is still practiced in those distant territories.

Inspired by the god of wine and ritual madness, the Dionysian Music Festival will present in the garden setting of Urban Spree music without boundaries or time limits.

Crete
DAULUTE
Daulute is a world music trio that presents a unique and dynamic interpretation of Cretan traditional music. It combines traditional instruments from the Eastern Mediterranean with Western whistles and the flute. Improvising on Greek traditional material the trio endeavours to develop an alternative sound style.
IOANNIS PAPATZANIS
DIMITRIOS SIDERIS
GEORGIOS ZACHARIOUDAKIS

Karpathos
THE MESOCHORIANS
The Mesochorians is a band performing for the first time in Germany, the traditional tunes (skopous) from the remote island of Karpathos, where music is an everyday life necessity. One of the few performed without percussion instruments, the style involves a continuous improvisation, by shifting within hundreds of drone melodies and creating new ones of changing rhythmic frequencies , of improvised rimes and real dialogues between the musicians and the singers. The sessions are very long middling on 10 hours and are always accompanied by dancers.
GIANNIS SARRIS (lyra)
NIKOS LYKOS (tsambouna)
FOTIS LYKOS (laouto)
LYTOS GIANNIS (laouto)

Black Sea
PAVLOS TSAVDARIDIS & FRIENDS
This is a local Berlin band playing traditional music that comes from the Greek inhabitants of the Black sea, now Georgia. Another remote area with a different type of lyra instrument, bagpipes and flutes whose music style is rooted both in the ancient Greek and Byzantine heritage. A very strong style with characteristic percussion rhythms and immense melodic speed but also of dramatic tale singing. The dances of this area are some of the most complicated in Greek culture and are exciting to experience.
PAVLOS TSAVDARIDIS (lyra)
XRISTOS SAVIDIS (ageio/gaida – gavali)
CHARITON TRIANTAFYLIDIS (dauli)

Berlin
FLOWERKRAUT
A travelling musician currently based in Berlin, focusing on traditional European dance and folk music. His main instrument is hurdy-gurdy, a rarely-heard instrument nowadays with multiple drone strings which give a constant pitch accompaniment to the melody, resulting in a sound similar to that of bagpipes. He also plays the fiddle and the flute.

Istanbul
ERMAN BÖLÜKCÜ
We met this young fellow in Neukölln, playing a kanun (zither) on the street just one week after he arrived in Berlin. He performed with virtuosity and passion, so we are very excited to have him onboard and jamming with other artists.

Some Ember / Lunacy / Offermose

Third Coming Records presents :

Some Ember (Dreamwave/Berlin)
https://someember.bandcamp.com/

::: Submerging The Sun LP release celebration :::

SUBMERGING THE SUN, the second LP by Some Ember, is a journal of climatological grief, intimate vulnerability, and transcendental sadness. Self-produced by songwriter Dylan Travis, the record’s sparse arrangements are weighted by bleak ambience and dramatic vocal turns.
Icy synthesizers pierce veils of fog-like drones, delivering sorrow and catharsis. Tides of dissonance ebb to reveal glittering mirages of
hope, which are just as soon swept away.

Long a fixture of the Oakland, CA musical underground, Some Ember has seen many forms – a solo dream pop bedroom project, a four-piece goth rock outfit, then a hardware-based synth duo, and back again.

Following cassettes on Crash Symbols, Night-People and Ascetic House, the band released their first LP on Dream in 2014 and toured extensively.

In 2015, Travis and longtime collaborator Nina Chase made the move to Berlin. After a tumultuous two years (which saw a further cassette released on Dream, “DEBTS OF LOVE”), the band will release SUBMERGING THE SUN on Third Coming Records in November 2018.

LUNACY (Darkwave/Noise/Philadelphia)
https://lunacy.bandcamp.com/

“This is a sonic walk-through of landscapes that no longer exist. This is the drip of electronic water on memories of something deep in rooms without a view. Echoes of human activity resonating in the factory chapel, the walls and sentiments covered with moss.” -Roy Montgomery

“As haunting as their songs are, they are beautiful. With each listen this project takes you to a deep, dark, murky place where sound has the power to change your reality!” – CVLT Nation

“A slow burner, distorted and obscure, visionary and obsessive, Lunacy’s distinctive sonic craftsmanship will crawl under your skin and linger and “sediment” in your mind indefinitely.” – White Light//White Heat

Offermose (Dungeon Synth/Copenhagen)
https://offermose.bandcamp.com/

“I saw the seasons change like stages of putrefaction in my decaying flesh Spring came darkest of all sprouting death-like flowers through puss-filled pores Silent screams choked by earth echoed in my skull from a thousand dead Bodies buried deep below forever suffocating in their final breath”

Dark Buddha Rising + Fuoco Fatuo

Dark Buddha Rising exhales psychedelic black fumes from a parallel dimension. Drones of malevolent waves number the days until total blackness take over.

“As the dust of centuries has settled on pages unwritten, the gates are opened only within.”

This Finnish coven has been spreading aural deformities for over a decade. A new album will soon see the day of light on Neurot Records before the year 2018 comes to an end. Accompanying them along the journey in support of this malevolent artefact is the italian funeral doom/death quartet FUOCO FATUO, who released their second album on Profound Lore Records in 2017.

FUOCO FATUO was born in 2011, in the middle of the ghastly lakes of Varese, Italy. Starting out as an occult and oppressive death/doom band with an eerie and gloomy atmosphere, their debut LP “The Viper Slithers In The Ashes Of What Remains”, which followed several EPs, was an exploration of the darkest and most desolate spaces through a sickened development of sound, making it like a flood of impenetrable black magma.

Their new album “Backwater” is a massive and suffocating funeral doom opus, the distressing awareness of the nothingness, transcending in the oblivion, and feeding on the black void. The relationship between state of mind and nature, the desolation and vast sense of distance are the main themes. An introspective, mournful journey, deeply rooted into the unknown.
