Hot Lunch is a punk ‘n’ roll band from the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Area that specializes in getting loud, getting weird and getting rad. The quartet’s unique blend of brown-acid skate-rock and wah-fuzz proto-metal was born in the bowels of skatanic rituals, biker beer busts and wizard staff meetings. With a head-bludgeoning sound that refuses to take sides (and showers), Hot Lunch are on a hell-bent mission to create the best party soundtrack in the history of all music. Their self-titled debut album was recorded by Tim Green at Louder Studios and is available on all formats by Who Can You Trust? Records (EU), Tee Pee Records and Burger Records (US).

Devil’s Harvest 2017 Tour w/ Belzebong + Sonic Wolves

Upcoming Show: “Étalage” by Palefroi

“Étalage: stand, stall, barrow,

display, window display,

showcase, showing off

spreading out, falling flat on one’s face / on the floor”

Urban Spree Galerie invites the Berlin-based French artistic duo Palefroi for a month-long residency in our Berlin studio during the month of July, which culminates in a month-long solo show opening on Friday, August 3rd.

Damien Tran and Marion Jdanoff are two French artists currently based in Berlin. Their visual work as a duo is a constant negociation between their respective approaches.. One is formal and abstract, the other narrative and figurative. They are attached to a form of harshness in the lines, to generous proliferation, to spontaneity and wonkiness.

Palefroi is a framework embracing all of their practices: printmaking, self publishing, painting and animated drawings. It is a space of experimentation and collaboration but also a structure supporting both their work as a duo and as individuals.

Following Palefroi’s residency at Urban Spree in July 2018, their solo exhibition Étalage should consist of: wolves, people playing trumpets, a fake tiger, dancing dots, drums solo and wallpapers.

Urban Spree Prints and Palefroi will also be releasing 2 special edition 6-colour screen prints on the occasion of the exhibition. Both prints have been hand printed by the duo on the Urban Spree premises during their residency in July 2018. They will be available in our Berlin shop on the opening night and online thereafter.

Low Bros complete the last mural of 2016

Berlin-based artist duo Low Bros just completed a mural at Urban Spree in December 2016. This Urban Spree Artist Wall is the last of the year and will stay facing Warschauer Str. until spring 2017.

The brothers from Hamburg painted their iconic wolves, a recurrent motive of the duo throughout the past year, which gently catches the pale nordic winter light.

A video of the complete work-in-progress will be released soon by the London-based Spraying Bricks project.
