TAPED HEART SOUNDS ALBUM PRE RELEASE
In February 2021, with snow stacking Berlin streets, Jesper Munk took to the carpets of his Neukoelln studio to pile new tapes with the Cassette Heads. Rooted in a near-urgent need to deepen sensory connexion amidst an ever-silent pandemic, Taped Heart Sounds was created. Featuring close friends and collaborators, and with the bulk recorded direct to tape (mixed by Miles DeIaco), the album pays homage to the music of Munk’s long-time loves, including covers of tracks by Tom Waits, Jacques Brel, the Platters, Dave Van Ronk, and many more. The record was entirely crowd-funded and self-produced, hoping to amplify the bond between listener, musician/s and composition at a time when intimacy deserves to be found on every corner.
