… The king remained as if the sword had stab his chest through. He didn’t sleep until morning; he wondered what and how, to so that it did not happen what he heard here …
Prague-based puppet theater and performance crew Hura Collective presents in Berlin at Urban Spree a puppet performance from the cycle of dark adaptations of the fairytales of K.J. Erben.
K. J. Erben is a Czech writer of fantasy prose from the 19th century in the wake of the Gebrüder Grimm.
VLASY means « hair » – referenced in the performance as the three golden hair, and accounts for the first part of the story HAIR – EYES – DEATH based on the stories from K. J. Erben.
The King, who loved to chase game the woods, eventually, after a number of evil deeds, he longed to chase for the game forever. Hand of destiny, drowned Princess, revived skeleton, shadows, live sounds on the springs and bells in the tradition of family puppet theaters.
Prague-based Hura Collective, mostly through the « Echt Street Puppets » project and the leadership of Hza Bažant, is the main driving force behind the renewal of the czech millenary tradition in puppet mastery, bringing the art to a larger scale with some puppets ranging in the 4 to 5 meters range.
The theater performance is wordless, so it is suitable for all public. However due to a dark theme and supernatural elements, we advise it may not suitable for children under 8.
The premiere of the event will be launched in Prague on 01.12.2018 (http://www.jatka78.cz/cs/inscenace/erben-vlasy) and will premiere in Germany on Saturday, December 15th, 2018.

Perverted aeons gave birth to Demilich in the early 90’s, the creature swiftly disappearing back into the bowels of putrefying earth after dropping the deformed masterpiece « Nespithe » in 1993 – guttural geometry of hell.
Since a few years they’re back to bludgeoning audiences with stellar results and finally we can lay them a place at our table – please bring enough guts to devour, for it is a historical occasion.
The other passengers on this train of death are none other than Spectral Voice, death-doom most beloved current artisans (also twin to monster death metal extraordinaire Blood incantation), finally crashing into Berlin on their second European tour.
Seldom will you experience a more apt show to sacrifice your aural senses and your flesh to. The gods of the abyss await with hungry fingers.
Placebo Effect wird anlässig einer Geburtstagsfeier, am 24.11.2018 im Urban Spree in Berlin mit Freunden für Freunde spielen.

Opening on Friday 01.06 at 19:00, Urban Spree Galerie invites you to the Opening of “Balance“, a solo presentation of new works by the famed belgian duo Hell’O Collective in our main galerie space and their first solo show in Germany.
Running in parallel with their retrospective museum solo show at the BAM in Mons (Musée des Beaux-Arts de Mons, Belgium), “Balance” brings a brand new series of paintings on canvas and on paper to the Berlin audience.
For the Brussels-based duo, “Balance” reflects upon the constant search of the equilibrium between shape, color, and momentum in their painting practice.
Hell’O will also sign their new monograph “Untitled Oddyssey“, published in early May by CFC Editions, and Urban Spree Prints will also release 2 screenprints specially made by the duo for the occasion.
Hell’O is a belgian artistic duo consisting of Antoine Detaille and Jérôme Meynen, active in murals as well as studio works and installations.
Several characteristics of their art indicate a filiation with the middle-age universe close to Jerome Bosch: an elegant and precise graphism, a taste for multiple, intertwined universes, and abundant references to a corpus of grotesque iconography, albeit perfectly mastered. Abstracted human bodies are among the many recurrent elements that are present in their paintings together with abstract, geometric signs, creating an overall rich personal mythology.
