As anyone who has been in attendance at one of their live shows thus far will testify – where the venues are decorated from floor to ceiling with glitter, doll parts, glamorous pictures and whatever else the six members of the band have dreamt up in the days before – HMLTD are a band of grand ambitions.

“Our plan has always been to connect on a much, much bigger scale than this,” says singer Henry. “We want to make big pop songs that get on the radio, in the papers, we want to be pop stars. And I don’t see why that is something that we should be embarrassed about.”

“That’s why we put so much into our videos, and our aesthetic. That’s why we signed to Sony, and not to an indie label. We have always thought of ourselves as a pop group, not an indie band.” adds guitarist James.

So, they connected with the famous Producer from Los Angeles, Justin Tranter (worked with Selena Gomez, Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears and Justin Bieber) for their new Album.
The first fruits of this new collaborative way of working will be ‘Pictures Of You’: a giant, titanic pop song with undeniable, super-infectious hooks that, rather than sounding like the work of Justin Tranter, still bears all the unmistakable hallmarks of an HMLTD creation. “And that is one of the more straight up songs,” says James. “The others are quite avant grade and strange, and totally unlike anything you’d hear on the radio at the moment, but still very pop, which is very exciting.”
“Basically,” Henry concludes, “we just want HMLTD to matter on a massive scale.”

St. Patrick’s Festival Berlin 2018

Dear friends of St. Patrick’s Festival Berlin,

We are delighted to announce that SPFB is officially BACK WITH A BANG on Saturday, March 17th, 2018!!! #patisback

We have joined forces with Urban Spree in Friedrichshain to host our special day in March!

Urban Spree, the cultural icon on the old RAW Grounds beside Warschauer Str, is the perfect venue for our comeback special! We’ll have Irish streetfood vendors serving delicious Irish drinks and food, live music, Irish dancing, and so much more. Make sure you join our Facebook event to stay up to date with announcements!

Unfortunately we didn’t receive permission for the parade this year, but not to worry! We’ll open the gates at Urban Spree from 13:00 so rugby fans will be able to watch the first of 3 live games in the 6 Nations Championship. The highlight will be England vs Ireland (k.o. 15:45) shown on big screens.

We have invited Setanta Berlin GAA to build an indoor GAA section showcasing the very best of Gaelic football and hurling. We will have kids activities, such as Irish Storytelling, arts and crafts, face-painting and the very special opportunity to dance with our lovely Irish dancers.

We are also very pleased that members of Berlin-Ireland Pro Choice Solidarity will be joining us to raise awareness about the upcoming abortion referendum in Ireland and to promote the #hometovotecampaign.

We have a packed schedule of diverse, Berlin-based Irish musicians for the FREE concert in the garden. 4 Minute Mile are sure to set the tone early when they kick things off at 14:00. We will then have the opening ceremony at 15:00 featuring the incredible dancers from Irish Beats Dance Company Berlin. St. Patrick himself is also due to make an appearance 🙂

2-piece Irish folk group Slí na Sláinte will have a more calming influence on proceedings when they take to the stage at 16:00. After the Irish rugby match (17:30), headline act Joey Ryan and his band will take to the stage performing a mix of his own material as well as Irish rock classics. Kilkelly will then perform some folk and blues numbers before Seán Óg and David Flowerkraut treat us to some classic Irish ballads.

The Afterparty featuring a traditional Céilí Mór Irish dance followed by renowned Irish DJs follows on from the concert and will keep revellers moving until the wee hours 🙂

TOPS Berlin

Hot off the heels of the release of theiir excellent new record (Sugar At The Gate) and fresh off of a much buzzed about Torstrassenfestival show, Powerline Agency and Shameless/Limitless are thrilled to announce the return of Montreal’s forever band du jour, TOPS.

For Sugar At The Gate, their third and most ambitious album to date, Montreal’s TOPS peaced out to LA. They lived and recorded at “Glamdale”, a mini-mansion and former brothel located in the Jewel City, Glendale, CA. The unassuming record unfolds slowly, taking time to reveal itself. Like nearly everything TOPS does, multiple meanings overlap with the album’s title referring to orgasm, but also to carrot chasing, gatekeeping, and the social contract. All of TOPS recordings have been produced by the band, who have self recorded the majority of their work to date.

Unser Konzept: Sake Revolution

All You Can Drink (Nomihoudai) » Tickets einzuführen.

Our Concept: Sake Revolution

After traveling around and trying many different Sake brands in Japan, we can guarantee an amazing quality and experience with the selection that we’ve made for you. When we try to drink a lot of Sake in Berlin, we have to buy expensive bottles of Sake. The bottle of Sake is really expensive because the price in Berlin includes the cost of import and alcohol taxes. The price of Sake in Berlin is 3 times more expensive than the price in Japan. We Japanese would like to share great Sake experience with all the people in Europe. Also, we should share our unique culture « All You Can Drink Sake: Nomihoudai » because we want you to try many varieties of Sake without hesitation. This is Sake Revolution from Berlin. We hope you’ll take part in our Sake Revolution!

Regarding Food and Retail vendors for next Japanese Sake Festival in winter:
This time we got a lot of application from food and retail vendors. Unfotunately We are closing applications this time, but we have application form for next time. We will keep in touch with you when we will be sure about next Japanese Sake Festival in winter.

// Tomoki Tamura (Holic Trax / Doublet) From Osaka //

The rare breed that is Tomoki Tamura started his journey with dance music in Japan and has come a long way since. A move to London in 2004 inaugurated a series of Holic nights that would eventually lead him to rock the floors of top London venues including Fabric, Ministry of Sound, and Plastic People. Meanwhile, he had gained enough experience and respect to earn himself a residency at the legendary club The END / AKA from 2007 until its closure in 2009.

Quickly growing to become a staple night in London’s nightlife, HOLIC continued to flourish as it brought a fresh selection of quality house and techno djs to the capital. While the party bubbled in London, it also earned permanent residency at one of Japan’s most respected clubs, Womb in Tokyo. He began to play an important roll being the main underground music ambassador connecting Tokyo to London. With immediate affect, Tomoki received the much deserved respect and started to play in all corners of the world.

Almost a decade after HOLIC’s establishment, the launch of the label HOLIC TRAX came naturally in 2012 with a release from none other than Mr. G. The label’s unique raw take on house music has earned enormous praise from underground music lovers. With releases from Tuccillo, Rick Wade, Chris Carrier, Ekkohaus & Rufus, Kate Simko, and Robert Dietz, the label has proven to follow its own taste without compromise. Tomoki is one half of Doublet, a project in collaboration with Italian Ibiza resident Tuccillo. HOLIC TRAX has been the main outlet for their unique take on raw and moody house tracks.

Although proving to be a credible producer, label owner, and promoter, he knows his records the most and is a DJ above all. He now resides in Berlin where he calls home.
